Managing crowded skies, active airfields

CAMP BUEHRING, Kuwait — The Soldiers from Company F, 2-149th General Support Aviation Battalion, 29th Combat Aviation Brigade, manage multiple airfields and provide the technical expertise to manage the crowded skies above Kuwait and Iraq.

General cites Iraqi forces' confidence, ability in liberating Qaim

WASHINGTON — Air Force Brig. Gen. Andrew A. Croft, Inherent Resolve deputy commander for air, congratulated the Iraqi security forces for driving the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria out of Qaim, and largely out of Iraq.

Task Force Marauder conducts patient load training with Romanian Armed Forces

Navy Celebrates 2017 National American Indian and Native Alaskan Heritage Month

WASHINGTON (NNS) -- The Navy joins the nation in celebrating American Indians and Native Alaskans during National American Indian and Native Alaskan Heritage Month throughout the month of November. ALNAV 006/17 encourages participation in all the heritage celebrations and special observances throughout the year. This year, Navy commands are encouraged to celebrate and reflect on the theme "Standing Together."

'The Long Road Home' to healing: New miniseries focuses on Soldiers' experiences in Iraq

FORT MEADE, Md. — While on the set of an upcoming TV show revolving around a deadly ambush that he and other 1st Cavalry Division Soldiers endured in Iraq, Eric Bourquin managed to get the emotional healing he had sought for years.

Zeravani, a specialized branch of the Peshmerga soldiers, conduct a tactical withdrawal during a patrol training exercise at Bnaslawa, Iraq, Aug. 10, 2016. The exercise allowed trainers to assess the Zeravani soldiers’ understanding of squad patrol training from day prior. The building partner capacity mission aims to increase the security capacity of local forces fighting the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

U.S.-led Coalition’s Support to Continue After Raqqa’s Liberation, Official Says

WASHINGTON — Despite its defeat in Raqqa, Syria, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria still exists, and the U.S.-led coalition will not back off from supporting the Syrian Democratic Forces, an Operation Inherent Resolve task force commander said.

Mattis: Military Force Authorizations Remain Sound

WASHINGTON — The 2001 and 2002 Authorizations for Use of Military Force remain sound bases for ongoing U.S. military operations against the mutating threat of terrorism aimed at innocents around the globe, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said.
