3rd Medical Command and the Jordanian Royal Medical Services exchange lessons on COVID-19

U.S. Army Soldiers from the 3rd Medical Command (Deployment Support) conducted a subject matter expert exchange with the Jordanian Royal Medical Services at the Queen Rania Al Abdullah Hospital For Children earlier this month. The four-day event facilitated discussions on interoperabilities, with special focus on COVID-19 response and requirements.

USS Gladiator Completes Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training

Bahrain based mine countermeasures ship USS Gladiator (MCM 11) assigned to U.S. 5th Fleet, Task Force (CTF) 52, recently completed a multi-day Mine Countermeasure (MCM) Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT) exercise with embarked mine warfare trainers on Oct. 9. SWATT is the surface forces premiere advanced tactical training exercise designed to increase combat capability, lethality and interoperability of the surface force across all domains.

Airmen from the 379th Expeditionary Communications Squadron at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, are reimagining how communication squadrons conduct operations. As U.S. Air Force Central’s largest communication squadron, the 379th ECS, known as the “Magic Makers,” have expanded capabilities for warfighting execution. The unit has transformed and converted strategy into action, enabling the installation commander to rapidly fight and recover the base in contingency operations.

Soldier's civilian experience helps save K9

U.S. Army Sgt. Carlos Patino has been a civilian nurse for eight years and a flight nurse for three years, but this was the first time he ever treated a dog for cardiac arrest.“I am going to be completely honest and tell you that the training for medics to treat military working dogs has been very minimal,” said Patino. “There was no training that would have prepared us for this situation.”

Ingenious Soldiers from Task Force Spartan's intelligence section created a podcast to enhance skillsets innovatively and broadcast important information to a broader audience. Soldiers currently deployed to Kuwait under Task Force Spartan's- 42nd Infantry Division recently broke norms by creating a weekly podcast to intensify their understandings of historical topics and spread their intelligence knowledge to a broader community.

International Coalition Protects Vital Shipping Lanes

The International Maritime Security Construct (IMSC) was created July 2019 as a way to deter unprofessional behavior in the waters of the Middle East region through its operational arm, Coalition Task Force (CTF) Sentinel. The IMSC comprises eight nations – Albania, Australia, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Lithuania, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States – who deploy personnel, ships and aircraft throughout the region as part of the international surveillance and detection effort.
