South Asia Strategy Provides 'Path to Win' in Afghanistan, Commander Says

WASHINGTON, Nov. 28, 2017 — The new permissions available thanks to the South Asia strategy mean the campaign is on the "path to a win," the commander of NATO's Resolute Support mission and U.S. forces in Afghanistan told Pentagon reporters today.

Combatant Command Enlisted Leaders Discuss Operations, NCO Empowerment

Winter is coming: ANDSF resupply forces in Marjah during Maiwand 8

LASHKAR GAH, AFGHANISTAN — With winter in full swing, the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces continued offensive operations to expand the security belt around Lashkar Gah and ensure their personnel have what they need to continue to fight through the winter.

Strikes target Taliban drug labs: 455th AEW plays key role

BAGRAM AIRFIELD, AFGHANISTAN — The 455th Air Expeditionary Wing played a pivotal role in the combined operations against Taliban revenue streams, Nov. 19-22, Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

U.S., Afghan forces target Taliban drug labs, hit ‘where it hurts’

Defeat-ISIS campaign deprives enemy of safe havens, OIR official says

WASHINGTON — The U.S.-led coalition to defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria continues to support Syrian partners with surveillance and combat advice, as well as precision strikes, an Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman said.

Master Driver to steer RSSB

NATO plus-up will give Afghan forces an offensive boost, Nicholson says

WASHINGTON — With an increase in troops, the U.S. and NATO strategy in Afghanistan has a good chance of enabling Afghan security forces to do more to secure their country, the Resolute Support mission commander said during a news conference in Brussels.
