Afghan children’s drawings express gratitude to coalition SOF medics

MAIWAND, Afghanistan (September 10, 2012) — To anyone who has received a drawing from a small child, there’s no mistaking this gesture is a pure expression of trust and friendship. In Maiwand district, on the door of a remote medical clinic, run by coalition special operations forces, hang several drawings given to medics by local children.

Afghan forces lead mission to secure Afghanistan's Highway 1

LOGAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan (Aug. 14, 2012) — Every day, thousands of cars, buses and highly-decorated trucks travel Afghanistan's Highway 1, the ring road that connects the country's largest and most populated cities. The 300-mile stretch of road between Kabul and Kandahar is the main focus of the area's Afghan National Security Forces and Battle Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, Task Force 173rd.
