USARCENT Deploys CCP to Jordan for Exercise Lucky Strike 23.2

ZARQA, Jordan – U.S. Army Central deployed its contingency command post Sept. 5-8 to Exercise Lucky Strike 23.2 at the Joint Training Center in Zarqa, Jordan. Consisting of approximately 100 service members and civilians from the USARCENT headquarters, the CCP is USARCENT’s rapidly deployable command element designed to provide command and control at any forward location in the U.S. Central Command region.

On September 7, UK warship HMS Lancaster (F229), operating in support of the French-led Combined Task Force (CTF) 150 seized more than 450kg of illegal drugs including heroin and hashish in the Arabian Sea.

Bright Star 2023 highlights the long-standing Egyptian-American ties

TAMPA, Fla. - Exercise Bright Star 2023 began Aug. 31, 2023, at the Mohamed Naguib Military Base, Alexandria, Egypt. Jointly led by the Egyptian Armed Forces and those from the U.S. Central Command, Bright Star is the oldest multilateral military exercise in the Middle East and Africa first occurring in 1980. The biannual multinational exercise is designed to enhance interoperability among the 34 participating nations and support their ability to confront security and military challenges at regional and international levels.

Middle East Naval Coalition Expands with Jordan as 12th Member

U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) welcomes the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as the latest member of the International Maritime Security Construct, a multinational maritime coalition established in 2019 to deter attacks on commercial shipping in the Middle East.
