Centcom: U.S. Ship Fires Warning Shots as Iranian Vessel Makes 'Unsafe' Approach

WASHINGTON — An Iranian vessel approached within 150 yards of the coastal patrol ship USS Thunderbolt and did not respond to repeated attempts to establish radio communications as it approached.

CENTCOM's top logistics officer: APS-5 'the epitome of strength'

CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait -- U.S. Central Command's top logistics officer visited Army Prepositioned Stocks-5 facilities here, July 20, to get a closer look at how modernization and combat configuration of APS-5 equipment is progressing. Army Maj. Gen. Edward Dorman, J-4 (logistics), CENTCOM, toured an APS-5 warehouse and spoke with 401st Army Field Support Brigade leadership and subject matter experts about how the brigade is improving speed of issue on a large scale.

Sustaining the Victory for Mosul

CAMP ARIFJAN, KUWAIT — During a three-year occupation of Mosul, Iraq, ISIS terrorized tens of thousands of Iraqi men, women and children, while also destroying many of the city’s religious and cultural treasures, including the al-Nuri Mosque. In the fight against ISIS and the liberation of Mosul, the Army Reserve’s 316th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) has been spearheading the sustainment effort.

U.S. Army Central hosted the Multinational NCO Symposium July 10-13, in Louisville, Ky., for the third year now. Partner nations of Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan all sent representatives of various ranks, ranging from sergeant to sergeant major of the Army, to participate in this event. USARCENT strengthens partnerships through Multinational NCO Symposium

SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. — For the third year in a row and for the first time in the city of Louisville, Kentucky, U.S. Army Central hosted the Multinational Noncom-missioned Officer Symposium July 10-13.

Iraqi Forces Control Mosul, Fighting Continues in Raqqa

WASHINGTON — A Pentagon spokesman said Iraqi forces now control all parts of Mosul, Iraq, while tough fighting against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria continues in Raqqa, Syria.

Task Force Saber exploits the initiative in the fight against ISIS

ERBIL, Iraq — Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared victory against ISIS in the city of Mosul, July 9, 2017. Supporting the fight against ISIS is the 29th Combat Aviation Brigade’s 4th Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regiment. Organized as Task Force Saber, the 4th Sqdn., 6th Cav. Regt. provides reconnaissance, surveillance, logistical support and offensive strike capabilities while supporting partner forces in both Iraq and Syria.

Ammo builds the boom

Flags rise over Exercise Steppe Eagle opening ceremony

U.S., Tajik military conduct joint field training

FAKHRABAD, Tajikistan — In conjunction with U.S. Central Command’s Regional Cooperation 2017’s command-post exercise held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Soldiers from the Virginia Army National Guard and Tajikistan military conducted a field training exercise, July 17-21, 2017, in Fakhrabad air base, Tajikistan.
