Dec. 7, 2023

Release Number 20231207-01

TAMPA, Fla. – During the month of November 2023, U.S. Central Command, along with coalition and other partners, conducted a total of 40 D-ISIS operations resulting in 4 ISIS operatives killed and 33 detained.

These operations highlight CENTCOM enduring commitment to the lasting defeat of ISIS and the continued need for targeted military efforts to prevent ISIS members from conducting further attacks. Among the cells disrupted by these operations include one cell responsible for planning attacks against prisons in Syria to free ISIS prisoners held there and another cell with a suicide belt.

The following is a breakdown of D-ISIS operations for November 2023 by country: In Iraq, 24 partnered operations resulted in 3 ISIS operatives killed and 14 ISIS operatives detained. In Syria, 16 partnered operations resulted in 1 ISIS operative killed and 19 ISIS operatives detained.

"Even in the midst of complex challenges within the region, CENTCOM remains steadfast to the region and the enduring defeat of ISIS," said Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, commander of CENTCOM.
