A U.S. Marine, with 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, assigned to Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force – Crisis Response – Central Command (SPMAGTF-CR-CC), fires an M4 service rifle at a target during a Combat Marksmanship Program (CMP) range in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, June 11, 2021. The CMP range allows Marines to maintain rifle proficiency by engaging targets at various distances. ARABIAN SEA (June 28, 2021) - An F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jet, attached to the “Diamondbacks” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 102, lands on the flight deck of aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) during flight operations in the Arabian Sea, June 28. Ronald Reagan is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points. SICILY, Italy– Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, commander, U.S. Central Command, center, poses for a photo with United Kingdom Carrier Strike Group leaders aboard HMS Queen Elizabeth June 14, 2021. Gen. McKenzie boarded the British Royal Navy ship from the Port of Augusta, the first in a series of port visits en route to the Mediterranean for the HMS Queen Elizabeth’s first operational deployment. The aircraft carrier launches F-35B Joint Strike Fighters operated and maintained by U.S. and British servicemembers.

ARABIAN GULF (May 24, 2021) – Fast response cutters USCGC Robert Goldman (WPC 1142) and USCGC Charles Moulthrope (WPC 1141), and patrol boats USCGC Maui (WPB 1304) and Adak (WPB 1333) transit the Arabian Gulf en route to Bahrain, May 24. Robert Goldman and Charles Moulthrope are the newest additions to Patrol Forces Southwest Asia (PATFORSWA), which is comprised of six 110' cutters, the Maritime Engagement Team, shore side support personnel, and is the Coast Guard's largest unit outside of the U.S. playing a key role in supporting Navy security cooperation, maritime security, and maritime infrastructure protection operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. NORTH ARABIAN SEA (May 8, 2021) Thousands of illicit weapons interdicted by guided-missile cruiser USS Monterey (CG 61) from a stateless dhow in international waters of the North Arabian Sea on May 6-7. Maritime security operations, as conducted by the U.S. Fifth Fleet, entail routine patrols to determine pattern of life in the maritime as well as to enhance mariner-to-mariner relations.
