U.S. Dhow Interdictions

Tampa, Fla. — This is a presentation addressing recent dhow interdictions at-sea by USS NORMANDY and USS FORREST SHERMAN while operating in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. These interdictions fit a consistent historical pattern of vessels being used to transfer weapons to the Houthis in Yemen, and we assess that Iran is responsible for planning, organizing, and making these shipments.

Expediting Avionics in the Middle East - 1107th TASMG

KUWAIT — One maintenance group located in the Middle East takes on repairs that others cannot, and their impact on sustainment operations is paramount.

Refueling the deployed mission

Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, 26th MEU transit Strait of Hormuz

5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS — The Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and embarked 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) on Feb. 12 completed passage through the Strait of Hormuz, entering the Arabian Gulf from the Gulf of Oman.

Carrier Air Wing Commander Completes Rare 1,200th Arrested Landing

ARABIAN SEA (NNS) — The commander of Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 1 completed his 1,200th career arrested landing Feb. 1 on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), a rare occurrence among naval aviators.

JORDAN — What is a vehicle that towers more than 9 feet, is used as a troop carrier and can substantially withstand explosive detonations? It is called a Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Wheeled Armored Vehicle.

CENTCOM command team visits PSAB, reaffirms commitment to the region

PRINCE SULTAN AIR BASE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia — U.S. Marine Gen. Kenneth McKenzie Jr., commander of CENTCOM and U.S. Navy Fleet Master Chief James Herdel, CENTCOM senior enlisted leader, visited PSAB during a tour of installations in the combatant command’s area of responsibility.
