Mattis Meets With Saudi Officials in Riyadh, Praises Kingdom’s Leadership

WASHINGTON — Defense Secretary Jim Mattis spoke to reporters after meetings in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, touching on the kingdom’s leading role in regional security as well as on countering Iranian influence and negotiating peace in Yemen.

Maintainers keep Gray Eagles in sky for Coalition

AL ASAD, Iraq — The Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command -- Operation Inherent Resolve conducts aerial assault missions daily in support of Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve. In order to maintain a high tactical advantage, the maintainers with Company D, 10th Aviation Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, service MQ-1C Gray Eagles, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), constantly and consistently.

The Air Assault Course allows U.S. military personnel in the U.S. Army Central area of operations the unique opportunity to become air assault qualified, while deployed outside the continental United States.

USARCENT’s first Air Assault Course graduates students

CAMP BUEHRING, Kuwait — After 12 days of little rest and multiple exams, military personnel in the U.S. Army Central area of operations made it to graduation day. For these students, it means they have earned the right to an identifier and badge of an ‘Air Assault Soldier.’

29th ID Leadership Shows Soldier Support

Bahrain — Brig. Gen. John Epperly, 29th Infantry Division Deputy Commander, visited Soldiers from the 43rd Air Defense Artillery Regiment and the 12th Cavalry Regiment March 26, 2017, in Bahrain as part of an Operation Spartan Shield battlefield circulation. Soldiers from air defense and support elements briefed Epperly on their mission and their area of operations. Epperly presented Soldiers with coins of excellence for a job well done.

One Air Force: Deployed total force integration proves successful in fight against ISIS

SOUTHWEST ASIA — Airmen travel thousands of miles overseas to support the conflict against ISIS bringing with them an array of life experiences that prove again and again a reoccurring theme; the strength of the U.S. Air Force is in the diversity it bolsters.

Expeditionary Airmen support Marine rescue mission in war against ISIS

(UNDISCLOSED LOCATION) — As an MV-22 Osprey neared the rocky earth beneath it, a cloud of dust surrounded the airframe, obscuring it from sight. Before the dust cleared dozens of U.S. Marines had exited the Osprey and were conducting tactical maneuvers to clear the area of enemy threats.

U.S. Bombs, Destroys Khorasan Group Stronghold in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan — U.S. Forces Afghanistan conducted a strike on an Islamic State of Iraq and Syria-Khorasan tunnel complex in the Achin district of Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, as part of ongoing efforts to defeat ISIS-K in Afghanistan.

U.S. and Gulf Cooperation Council forces conduct the culminating field-training event of exercise Eagle Resolve 2017, April 6, in Kuwait’s Shuwaikh Port. Eagle Resolve is the premier multi-national exercise in the Gulf region.

Multinational forces wrap-up exercise Eagle Resolve 2017 in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT — U.S. and Gulf Cooperation Council forces stormed Kuwait’s Shuwaikh Port in a demonstration of interoperability, April 6, in the final event of exercise Eagle Resolve 2017.

Congressmen from three states visited Soldiers from their congressional districts to learn about the ongoing fight against ISIS. Brig. Gen. John Epperly, the Deputy Commander of the 29th Infantry Division, Task Force Spartan, escorted the delegation as they received a briefing on Operations Spartan Shield and Inherent Resolve. Spokesman: Counter-ISIS Forces Make Gains in Raqqa, Mosul

WASHINGTON — U.S., coalition and partner forces are edging toward victory in the campaign to defeat Islamic State of Iraq and Syria terrorists in and around Raqqa, Syria, and Mosul, Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman told reporters.
