USCENTCOM conference targets the hybrid threat

TAMPA, Fla. — The 2020 Central and South Asia (CASA) Directors of Military Intelligence (DMI) Conference, hosted by U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM), brought together Directors of Military Intelligence from Central and South Asia and subject matter experts from America’s intelligence and academic community, Feb. 10–12, 2020.

U.S. Dhow Interdictions

Tampa, Fla. — This is a presentation addressing recent dhow interdictions at-sea by USS NORMANDY and USS FORREST SHERMAN while operating in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. These interdictions fit a consistent historical pattern of vessels being used to transfer weapons to the Houthis in Yemen, and we assess that Iran is responsible for planning, organizing, and making these shipments.

Refueling the deployed mission

Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, 26th MEU transit Strait of Hormuz

5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS — The Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and embarked 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) on Feb. 12 completed passage through the Strait of Hormuz, entering the Arabian Gulf from the Gulf of Oman.

Carrier Air Wing Commander Completes Rare 1,200th Arrested Landing

ARABIAN SEA (NNS) — The commander of Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 1 completed his 1,200th career arrested landing Feb. 1 on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), a rare occurrence among naval aviators.
