GHWBCSG Conducts Strikes from Mediterranean

The George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group (GHWBCSG) commenced strike missions in support of Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) from the eastern Mediterranean Sea, Feb. 13. Carrier strike groups demonstrate the mobility, flexibility and power projection capability of the Navy's globally-deployed force -- anytime, anywhere. The GHWBCSG operations in the eastern Mediterranean Sea in support of OIR demonstrate the capability of the U.S. Navy to conduct precision strikes on Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) targets from multiple theaters, highlighting the flexibility of the Navy's globally-deployed force.

APS-5 increases speed of issue, provides MRAPs to 82nd Airborne Division Soldiers

The 401st Army Field Support Brigade issued rolling stock from Army Prepositioned Stocks-5 to 82nd Airborne Division Soldiers here, Feb. 6. A total of 26 vehicles were activated from APS-5 and issued to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division in a span of only three days. "For us it's more than just signing for some vehicles and doing some layouts," said Capt. Jeremy Mounticure, administration and logistics operation center officer in charge, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division. "It's taking the attention to detail to make sure that we get our Soldiers the best quality equipment."
