Royal Air Force conducts first airstrikes in Syria

Last night parliament granted approval for the UK to extend their airstrikes to include Syria, as well as Iraq, as part of counter-Daesh coalition operations. Within hours, Royal Air Force Tornados flew their first offensive operation on terrorist targets inside Syria.

Royal Air Force conducts first airstrikes in Syria

New Sentry completes first combat sortie in Southwest Asia

The 380th Air Expeditionary Wing’s newest weapon system, the E-3G Sentry airborne warning and control system aircraft, completed its first active combat mission from an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia, Nov. 21, 2015.

Carter: DoD intensifies ISIL fight, urges more international support

The Defense Department is quickly adapting to fighting the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and is urging the international community to step up the pace of its contributions to the fight, Defense Secretary Ash Carter said today.

Operation Inherent Resolve airstrikes proving effective in Iraq, Syria

A coalition air campaign and the enabling of indigenous ground forces has helped push the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) back in Iraq and Syria, a U.S. Central Command spokesman said here today.

An AV-8B Harrier assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 162 (Reinforced), 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (26th MEU), launches from the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) to conduct their first missions over Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
