U.S. Marines and U.S. Navy Sailors with 3rd Marine Logistics Group, 3rd Marine Air Wing and 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct casualty evacuation exercises during a casualty evacuation exercise on Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, May 21, 2025. Marines and Sailors conducted ground and air hoist guidance and tactical combat casualty care techniques in rural terrain scenarios. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force, ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
