Senior military leaders from the framework nations of the Global Coalition against ISIS gathered in the Kingdom of Bahrain for the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM)-hosted Combined Force Commanders' Conference (CFC), Feb. 1-2.

The CFC provides a forum for the Chiefs of Joint Operations (CJO) from, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, The Netherlands, and USCENTCOM to discuss progress on the global Defeat-ISIS campaign and the state of ISIS worldwide.

A meeting on the margins of a NATO Summit in Wales in 2014 set the framework for anti-ISIS forces in Iraq and Syria with 13 original Coalition members. Today, the Global Coalition against ISIS has 87 members from countries across every continent focused on degrading ISIS capabilities and ensuring its enduring defeat, including dismantling its networks, preventing the flow of foreign terrorist fighters across borders; and supporting regional stabilization. In support of D-ISIS, Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) advises, assists, and enables partners forces, as well as providing specialist operational capabilities. As the current mission transitions, the Coalition continues its commitment to ensure Iraq's secure, stable, and sovereign future.

In addition to the D-ISIS campaign, the leaders also discussed the evolving situation in Syria, the cessation of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Gaza ceasefire, and updates on Iran-backed Houthis and the Red Sea.

"Our coalition partners contribute greatly every day to strengthening our warfighting ability against ISIS. Through combined operations centers, exercises, and our partnerships we have made continued progress in the global campaign to defeat ISIS. But more work remains, and the CFC is a key forum to continue advancing our efforts," said Gen. Kurilla.
