Readout from Gen. McKenzie’s office call with Jordan’s King Abdullah bin Hussein II
U.S. Central Command’s Gen. Frank McKenzie met with His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan in Tampa today.
The leaders discussed shared challenges originating in the Middle East – from combating extremism to improving border security – and agreed to explore creative ways to expand bilateral coordination between the two nations.
McKenzie said, “Jordan is an important pillar in preserving peace and advancing security throughout the region.”
McKenzie reiterated that Jordan remains one of the United States’ most reliable partners.
The two leaders last met in July 2020 in Amman.
