USCENTCOM

"A U.S. Navy Sailor assigned to U.S. Central Command headquarters tested positive for the COVID 19 Coronavirus on March 20, 2020, and is under treatment at his home in Tampa, Florida.

The sailor had returned to the United States from overseas travel on March 15, and immediately entered precautionary quarantine at his residence without stopping at U.S. Central Command headquarters or Macdill AFB.

Upon  developing symptoms on March 18, 2020, he called ahead to the Macdill AFB Health Clinic, and was met outside the facility by medical professionals for his test.

His test returned positive on March 20.

The Sailor will receive all appropriate medical care and treatment.

We are committed to taking every measure possible to protect the health of our force. We remain in close coordination with state and federal authorities, and public health authorities to ensure the well-being of our personnel and the local population."
