More than 200 participants from five nations are participating in multinational exercise Regional Cooperation 16 Sept. 16-
28
at Joint Base Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Hosted by the Massachusetts National Guard, the weeklong command post exercise is an opportunity for members of U.S. Central Command to meet members of the armed forces of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Participants will train and exchange best practices about counterterrorism, border security and peacekeeping operations.
Since 2001, Regional Cooperation exercises have been Central Command's largest annual military-to-military exercise with its Central Asian partners. Last year's exercise was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
