TAMPA, Fla. —
U.S. military forces continued to attack ISIL terrorists in Iraq, using
fighter aircraft to conduct two airstrikes Thursday and Friday.
One
airstrike southeast of Baghdad destroyed a boat on the Euphrates River
conducting resupply of ISIL forces. The second strike occurred
southwest of Baghdad and struck a small ISIL ground unit. All aircraft
exited the strike areas safely.
These strikes were conducted as part of the President's comprehensive strategy to degrade and ultimately destroy ISIL.
U.S. Central Command has conducted a total of 178 airstrikes across Iraq.
