ISAF condemns Peshawar school attack

Release No: UNRELEASED Dec. 16, 2014 PRINT | E-MAIL

KABUL, Afghanistan, December 16, 2014 – ISAF joins President Obama, President Ashraf Ghani, Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif and the international community in condemning today’s attack on a school in Peshawar, Pakistan.

The Taliban has taken responsibility for the attack that murdered over one-hundred innocent school students and left scores more wounded and injured.

The barbaric actions of the Taliban illustrate their lack of value for human life and lack of respect for the Islamic faith. These attacks only prove their selfish desire for power and willingness to murder to reach their self-serving goals.

ISAF expresses its condolences to the families of those killed and wounded in today's attack. We are confident that the Pakistani authorities will work tirelessly to seek justice for the families and hold those behind the attack accountable for their atrocities.
