Truman begins operations in U.S. 5th Fleet

KC-46 completes first around-the-world flight

A KC-46A from the 22nd Air Refueling Wing completed the Pegasus’ first flight around the world Nov. 13-26. The first global circumnavigation for the KC-46A Pegasus provided extensive training opportunities for maintainers and aircrew at multiple locations on a seven-leg, 13-day journey that included its debut at the 2019 Dubai Air Show (DAS).

Griffin Missile Exercise 2019

U.S. Navy coastal patrol ships and U.S. Coast Guard patrol boats conducted an annual test of the MK-60 Griffin guided-missile system in the Arabian Gulf Dec. 10-14. The annual exercise was conducted with the improved Griffin Missile System (GMS) to test ship interoperability, weapon tactics employment, and new system upgrades.

Coordination and continuty key to military assistance program

Female Peshmurga instructors graduate

Milestones mark a journey and Kurdish security forces continued to move forward in November with the graduation of their first female military instructors in the region. More than a dozen women in the Peshmerga are now certified to teach their fellow soldiers various skills and classes, including weapons, basic first aid, the law of armed conflict and preventing gender-based violence.
