A Step toward Transition

CAMP PHOENIX, Afghanistan — In the midst of headlines that claim the Afghan forces are ready to take the lead, the Security Force Assistance Integration Cell at Combined Joint Interagency Task Force 435 Headquarters has proof. The Afghan National Army Military Police Guard Command at the Afghan National Detention Facility at Pol-e-Charki, who are partnered with Task Force Titan for mentorship and assistance, are taking solid, steady steps toward independence.

CENTCOM sailor turns hobby into book

MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — “This book does not exist anywhere else in the world.” “This book has three faces: It helps Afghans learn English, it helps English speakers learn Dari, and it helps everyone learn about Afghanistan’s culture.” These are some of the remarks from Afghans who read the book written by a Dari-speaking naval officer serving here with U.S. Central Command.
