Children learn to write the English alphabet and join in school yard games together at the New Horizons for Ain Issa School, in Ain Issa, Syria, May 16, 2018. Prior to the defeat of ISIS, schools in the area were evacuated and shut down for nearly five years. New Horizons for Ain Issa opened with the support of the U.S. State Department last year and now offers education for an array of needs, including special education, psycho-social support, sign language and literacy. Reintegrating children into society through education and socialization is another step toward normalcy for future generations in Syria. (U.S. Army b-roll by Sgt. Brigitte Morgan).
