Task Force Desert Eagles conduct Elevator Drills
DoD Southern Border 2025
May 22, 2025 | 0:59
U.S. Soldiers, assigned to Charlie Company, 264th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 101st Division Sustainment Brigade, assigned to Joint Task Force - Southern Border, conduct elevator drills with 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division to prepare for upcoming aerial delivery missions along the southern border, at Biggs Army Airfield, Texas, May 22, 2025. Elevator drills are when the aircraft picks up a load going up and down ensuring it is sling loaded properly. During the training, personnel trained on rigging, inspecting sling loads, and conducted elevator drills using a container carrying supplies to a CH-47 Chinook to prepare for aerial delivery missions to austere environments along the southern border. Under the direction of U.S. Northern Command, Joint Task Force–Southern Border aligns efforts to seal the southern border and repel illegal activity and is responsible for full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations, which will allow for more effective and efficient DoD operations.
