Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve
May 14, 2018 | 3:03
Children return to Better Hope for al-Tabqah children’s center for their first day back to school for the new semester in al-Tabqah, Syria, May 14, 2018. B-roll includes classroom footage of children attending literacy classes. Prior to the defeat of ISIS, schools in the area were evacuated and shut down for nearly five years. Better Hope for al-Tabqah opened with the support of the U.S. State Department and offers multiple educational programs including special needs, literacy classes, and traveling psychosocial support programs that have reached 11,000 children in Raqqah province. Reintegrating children into society, through education and socialization, is another step toward normalcy for future generations. (U.S. Army b-roll by Sgt. Brigitte Morgan).
