The threat of Daesh attacks remains – and the Iraqi Security Forces continue to aggressively pursue these remnants where they are hiding – such as sleeper cells, caches, temporary camps, finances and key personnel. The Qwat al-Khasah is an elite fighting force that specializes in raids, seizing, clearing and holding terrain for limited durations and conducting reconnaissance, counter-insurgency or counter terrorism operations.
