U.S. SERVICE MEMBER DIES IN VEHICLE INCIDENT, NANGARHAR PROVINCE

KABUL, Afghanistan

 

 — A U.S. service member has died as a result of injuries sustained during a vehicle incident in Nangarhar province, Monday.

 

The incident was not the result of enemy action. Two other U.S. service members were also injured and are receiving medical treatment.

 

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own,” said General John Nicholson, commander, U.S. Forces-Afghanistan. “Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with the families and friends of our fallen and injured comrades.”
