U.S. Navy Ship Rescues Iranian Mariners in Gulf of Oman

MANAMA, Bahrain — A U.S. Navy vessel rescued two Iranian mariners Nov. 27 from a fishing vessel after it was adrift for eight days in the Gulf of Oman.

U.S. Navy, Jordan Partner on New Unmanned Systems Integration

U.S. and Partner Aircrews Conduct Presence Patrol

AL UDEID AIR BASE, Qatar — Two U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancers flew a presence patrol mission in the Central Region that included several coalition and partner nation air forces today.

Cyclone class Patrol (coastal) ship USS Tempest (PC 2), fires a Griffin Missile during a test and proficiency fire in the Arabian Gulf Nov. 5. Tempest, assigned to Commander, Task Force (CTF) 55, is supporting maritime security operations and theatre security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.

U.S. Navy Conducts Annual Live Fire Missile Exercise in Arabian Gulf

NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY, BAHRAIN — U.S. Navy patrol coastal ships conducted a live-fire exercise with the MK-60 Griffin guided-missile system in the Arabian Gulf, Nov. 4-6, to test crew proficiency and system functionality.

ASAB Steps Up Tactical Airlift Abilities with Upgraded C-130 Model

ALI AL SALEM AIR BASE, Kuwait — The 779th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron was redesignated as the 61st EAS this week, ushering in the C-130J Super Hercules to replace the legacy H models that have operated at Ali Al Salem Air Base.

Bara Seck, an internal control analyst assigned to the Kaiserslautern, Germany, based 266th Finance Support Center, leads a training session on international money laundering at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, Oct. 16, 2021. The 266th FISC was selected to pilot the introduction of counter threat finance techniques into the Army’s conventional forces. Soldiers assigned to the 266th FISC create financial profiles, perform suspicious activity report reviews, conduct commodity flow analyses and execute financial document exploitation—tasks that provide commanders with a greater understanding of the financial underpinnings of adversarial groups.
