MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla., April 27, 2015 - U.S. Central Command is hosting military planners from 39 nations this week during an operational planning conference here. The conference provides an opportunity for coalition partners to further develop and refine military campaign plans to degrade and defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant while building and strengthening relationships among all participants, according to a CENTCOM news release.
This is the third coalition planning conference hosted by Headquarters CENTCOM in less than a year. The conference represents another important milestone in U.S. and coalition military efforts to work together with Iraq and other partners from around the world to eliminate the terrorist group ISIL and the threat they pose to Iraq, Syria, the region and the wider international community, according to CENTCOM officials.
