The talks are an annual event held in Tampa, Florida designed to review the security cooperation progress of the previous year’s military-to-military events and finalize the 2018 military-to-military planning between the two partner nations.

This year’s CST capped another successful step forward in strengthening U.S.-Tajikistan military cooperation.

Topics of discussion included:

-Enhancement of counterterrorism.

-Countering violent extremism.

-Border security capabilities.

-Development and deployment of peacekeeping operations.

-Regional stability.

Gen-Maj Hushvakht Miravarov served as the head of the Tajik delegation this year.

Lines of U.S.-Tajikistan military cooperation consist of a robust exercise plan, tactical partnership exchanges for border security and peacekeeping, and a refined agreement on international military education and training.
