Gunfighters Save the Day
FORWARD OPERATING BASE DAHLKE, Afghanistan - The Task Force Gunfighters, Charlie Company, 2nd General Support Aviation Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment,, 1st Infantry Division Combat Aviation Brigade, pilots and crew members of Team Chapman DUSTOFF. U.S. Army Sgt. Michael Charles (second from left), Staff Sgt. Trevor Thompson (fourth from right) and Capt. Cody Sneed (third from right) were recently awarded The Air Medal for their extraordinary efforts in the medical evacuation that saved the life of a Afghan National Army Soldier gravely wounded in a combat fire fight.
