UK/U.S. Mine Countermeasures Exercise 17-1
161003-N-RZ218-0572 A MH-53E Sea Dragon assigned to the Blackhawks of Helicopter Mine Countermeasure Squadron 15 (HM-15), starts to maneuver into position with ships from Commander, Task Force, 52 off the coast of Bahrain as part of UK/U.S. Mine Countermeasures Exercise 17-1, Oct. 19, 2016. The bilateral exercise serves to enhance cooperation, mutual MCM capabilities and interoperability between the U.S. and UK Naval forces in ensuring free flow of commerce, freedom of navigation and long-term regional security.. HM-15 is a forward deployed naval force asset attached to Commander, Task Force 53 to provide combat logistics and search and rescue capability throughout the U.S. 5th fleet area of responsibility.
