On 23 Feb 2017, Lt Gen Charles Q. Brown, Jr. was honored for his military accomplishments and service to our county at the Florida Department of Transportation, District 1, 14th Annual Black History Recognition Ceremony. During the ceremony, in addition to being presented the key to the City of Bartow, Bartow City Commissioner Leo Longworth, presented a proclamation signed by the Honorable Trish Pfeiffer, Mayor of Bartow, proclaiming that day “Lt Gen Charles Q. Brown, Jr. Day.”
