2. Support to the Global War on Terror:

El Salvador's government is fully committed to the war on terror. It supports a highly structured global strategy, at political and operational levels, to neutralize the international threat of terrorism against the civilized world.

3. Support to Operation Iraqi Freedom:

• El Salvador has deployed ten battalion-size contingents since 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom

• The Salvadorian contingent (Cuscatlan Battalion) has been stationed in different eastern cities of Iraq: An Najaf (Camp Baker), Al Hillah (Camp Charlie) and, presently, in Al Kut (Camp Delta)

• In addition to the main contingent at Camp Delta, El Salvador maintains staff officers at MNF-I/MNC-I headquarters in Baghdad

4. Humanitarian Support to the people of Iraq:

El Salvador's primary mission contribution is reconstruction and civil-military cooperation (CIMIC) in Iraq. More than 430 projects have been completed by the Cuscatlan Battallion, improving the livelihood and fulfilling the needs of the Iraqi people.
