| U.S. Central Command Hosts Chiefs' of Defense Conference |
| By CENTCOM Public Affairs MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. – U.S. Central Command Commander Gen. David Petraeus will host the second annual Central and South Asia Chiefs of Defense Conference from March 30 to April 1 in Washington D.C. Senior defense officials from participating countries will be in attendance to foster regional military-to-military cooperation and increase high-level dialogue. Among the keynote speakers are the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen and USCENTCOM commander, Gen. David Petraeus. Expert regional speakers and round table discussions will examine current challenges to maintaining and strengthening security and stability in the CASA states region. Some specific issues on the agenda include methods to enhance interoperability and military modernization, combating transnational terrorism and regional cooperative measures to enhance security. *** Media are invited to attend Adm. Mullen’s speech to the CHOD conference on March 31 at 1230. Media space is limited and will be facilitated on a first-come, first-served basis. Media should be prepared to provide valid media credentials issued by their media organizations as well as government issued identification. Only one reporter and one videographer/ photographer from each organization will be allowed to participate. Showtime is 1200. Please contact Maj.
