Military Forces are deployed in the following (main) theaters:

·         AFGHANISTAN(ISAF): More than 600 Pers

·         KOSOVO (KFOR): More than 200 Pers.

This mission will be ending in the first Trimester of 2010.

·         LEBANON (UN) (BELUFIL): More than 200 Pers.

De-mining, reconstructing and CIMIC operations

·         AFRICA: RDC

Support to MONUC missions and Instruction of RDC military forces


Support to Operations in
Afghanistan:

Contributing more than 600 Pers to the ISAF mission

·         HQ ISAF: 39 Pers

·         HQ RC-N: 04 Pers

·         HQ RC-C: 02 Pers

·         KAIA (Kabul International Airport): More than 300 Pers

Providing protection, security and airfield support

·         KUNDUZ:

o        PRT (Provincial Reconstruction Team) Kunduz: 31 Pers

o        OMLT (Operational Mentoring and Training Team): 125 Pers

·         KANDAHAR: 115 Pers and 06 F16 ·         Belgium also contributes financially to the reconstruction of Afghanistan:

Support to Operations in the Gulf Area

·         ONE Ship for the operation ATALANTA in 2009.

·         ONE Ship being planned for the operation ATALANTA in 2010.

Humanitarian Support:

·         Belgium participates in a large multi-national Humanitarian Assistance (HA) missions.

·         A B-FAST (Belgian First Aid Team) is on a 24Hrs Notice To Move in order to be able to give urgent medical assistance in case of disaster. It has been e.g. been deployed after the Tsunami disaster in 2005 and the Haiti Earthquake in 2010.

·         Belgian Air Force C-130 aircraft are extensively used is delivering a wide variety of supplies in a wide variety of military support and humanitarian missions.
