Dunford: U.S. asking nations for specific capabilities to fight ISIL

If any country, in the wake of the attacks in Paris, doesn’t think the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant is a problem, “then they are not thinking hard enough,” Marine Corps Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr.said today. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff discussed the campaign against ISIL and efforts to enhance the coalition dedicated to defeating the terror group during an interview with reporters at the Naval Support Activity here.

Royal Air Force conducts first airstrikes in Syria

Last night parliament granted approval for the UK to extend their airstrikes to include Syria, as well as Iraq, as part of counter-Daesh coalition operations. Within hours, Royal Air Force Tornados flew their first offensive operation on terrorist targets inside Syria.

Carter: DoD intensifies ISIL fight, urges more international support

The Defense Department is quickly adapting to fighting the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and is urging the international community to step up the pace of its contributions to the fight, Defense Secretary Ash Carter said today.
