Freedom of Information Act

NOTICE: As a result of increases in the Health Protection Condition, (HPCON) level, our offices are limited to mission-essential personnel only and maximizing the use of telework for other personnel. This means that we are unable to handle requests sent via traditional methods and can only respond to electronic inquiries while under elevated HPCON levels.

Welcome to Headquarters United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Requester Service Center. The FOIA Requester Service Center was established in compliance with Executive Order 13392. FOIA is a federal statute which generally provides that any person has a right to request access to federal agency records, except to the extent the records are protected from disclosure by any of nine exemptions contained in the law or by one of three special law enforcement record exclusions.

Your FOIA request may be similar to previous requests approved for release. Click on the Reading Library to see if the information you want is already posted. Although there is no standard format or form to use when requesting records from USCENTCOM, you may find the FOIA Request Letter Format helpful in structuring your request.

Please Note: If you are making a request for personal records regarding yourself, you must provide a signed letter. The letter, containing your signature, can be mailed, faxed or scanned and sent as an e-mail attachment. Initial FOIA requests may be submitted by completing the USCENTCOM E-FOIA request form by email or by postal mail. Contact information for your requests is provided below.
